This page features photos of my virtual pet collection, along with information and useful resources I've collected along the way.

The Tamagotchi Paradise was released in 2025 and comes in four different coloured shells: purple sky (I have this one!) pink land, blue water and jade forest.
This is a re-released version of the original 1996 Tamagotchi. The Gen 1 has a checkerboard background and the minigame for increasing happiness is a guessing 'left or right' game which is completely luck-based.
This is a re-released version of the 2nd gen 1997 tamagotchi. It features a swirly background and a minigame to increase happiness where you're shown a number and have to guess whether the next number will be higher or lower.
This is a bit easier to win than the gen 1 minigame, because your guess is based on the first number you're shown - for example, if it's a 9, you can fairly confidently guess the next one will be lower!

Info:
This is such a fun little device - it has transparent screen overlaying a 3D diorama background which is responsive to short and long presses, and an accelerometer so it responds to movement too.
There are 15 dogs to unlock and cute minigames. This is a low-maintenance virtual pet that I like to keep on my desk to check in on from time to time.
User guide can be found here (opens in new tab).
Lexibook:
Info:
The gameplay on these virtual pets is the same as GigaPets by Tiger Electronics.
Interestingly, the Lexibook cat is the same as the GigaPets 'Starcat' which is found on the 2-in-1 GigaPet CompuKitty/StarCat 25th anniversary edition:
This Lexibook virtual pet doesn't feature the 'CompuKitty' option. 'StarCat' is a winning design introduced in 2018 from a 'design your own gigapet' competition, whereas CompuKitty is an original 1997 GigaPet.
The dog version reminded me of my beloved CoolTec Pocket Puppy I had as a kid, so I had to get both!
